I had a novel idea in mind amidst the plethora of halls of fame dedicated to sports and other achievements – the establishment of an academic hall of fame. The primary purpose of this prestigious honor would be to pay tribute to my former students who not only made my teaching experience immensely enjoyable, but also displayed exceptional brilliance in their academic pursuits.
This esteemed Hall of Fame is exclusively designed to recognize the "best and brightest" individuals who were part of my graduate and undergraduate courses at LSU. These exceptional students excelled in various subjects, including operations research, business forecasting, data mining, and advanced statistics. Their selection was based on their unwavering commitment to academic excellence, their evident leadership qualities, and the promise they hold for a remarkable future. I cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride in all the inductees who have rightfully earned their place in this distinguished Hall of Fame.
I am currently teaching three courses in the online MSA program, a role I value deeply.
Most of our online students are working professionals who balance demanding careers, family responsibilities, and graduate‑level coursework.
It is truly an honor to teach such highly motivated, hard‑working, and dedicated students.
Their commitment to learning continually inspires me and elevates the quality of our program.
We launched our MSA program in 2012, marking the beginning of a transformative academic journey for many students.
Since the inception of the program, I have developed several courses and had the privilege of teaching them to our full‑time MSA cohorts. It is always enjoyable to interact with students in the classroom, where their curiosity, energy, and determination create a vibrant learning environment.
One of the greatest rewards is seeing them grow both personally and professionally after they leave campus, applying what they learned and achieving success in their careers.
I had been teaching undergraduate courses in our program for many years, and teaching at this level was one of the most rewarding parts of my academic career.
Over time, I have developed and refined several undergraduate courses, each designed to build a strong foundation in analytics and prepare students for advanced study or professional work.
Interacting with undergraduates in the classroom is always energizing - their curiosity, fresh perspectives, and eagerness to learn create a lively and engaging environment.
One of the greatest joys is seeing them mature academically and personally, and then watching them launch successful careers after graduation, carrying forward the skills and confidence they gained during their time with us.
