Request for Grade Change

Grade appeals must strictly adhere to cases involving professional misjudgment on the part of the instructor. Requesting a grade change for reasons unrelated to the quality of work would be both unjust and unethical.

If you reach out to me via email, casually requesting a grade change, please understand that my response remains consistent: Once the final score is determined, it cannot be altered, much like in a football game. Embracing this reality is essential, so let's focus on moving forward.

If you firmly believe there was an error in the assessment of your final grade, you have the right to initiate a formal grade appeal. To begin the process, kindly complete the following form and submit it to me electronically. Your concerns will be duly addressed and thoroughly reviewed.

Chun:

My final grade for  should be raised because (check all that apply!)

There must be a mistake which I can't find right now.

This is the only course in which I have received a poor grade.

I was not feeling well at the time of the examination.

My mind always goes blank during an examination.

I was up all last night studying, and I fell asleep in the exam.

Due to a power failure, my electric alarm clock failed to wake me for the exam.

This grade grieved  , whose pride I am.

My will cause you grievous bodily injury if you don't raise my grade.

At no time before the exam did I receive an official warning that your approach demanded so much. Therefore, I merely put forth my usual effort. Surely this should have merited a satisfactory grade.

As a math atheist, I should be excused on the basis of my religion.

I believe in the masses and refuse to have my mind abused by your obsession with numbers.

I have studied this subject from the broad philosophical viewpoint and therefore was unable to answer your technical, catchall questions.

Several people around me copied from my paper during the exam, yet they received higher grades than I did. Surely this is not fair.

I was too honest to cheat like the rest of the class.

I only read the text, and not all of the questions were taken directly from the text.

I missed the class because

I slept in

I had to attend  wedding

the day you covered the material on the exam, and therefore shouldn't be responsible for any details in that area.

My , who almost died (you remember) before the first exam, almost died again before this exam.

My friend was sick, and I only take exams with my friend.

I have personal problems that I would rather not discuss. However, it would be terribly unfair of you not to consider them.

I promise to learn whatever it is you thought that you were teaching at some future time when I have time to waste.

The batteries in my calculator ran down in the middle of the examination.

This mark ruined my prospect of getting

It is not a higher mark that I seek. I care nothing for marks. I think marks are wicked and I disapprove of them. However, this pernicious system of which I am a victim requires marks for success. Therefore, I seek a higher grade.

Perhaps the discrepancy between the answer I gave and the answer you want is due to our cultural or socio-economic differences.

I missed the midterm because I was in jail for aggravated assault involving a minor misunderstanding with another professor.

You will be receiving my check for $ .
