A day trip to two charming cities by train! Early in the morning, I embarked on a super-fast and exceptionally comfortable Shinkansen journey to Kumamoto, renowned for its iconic Kumamoto Castle. Boasting expansive castle grounds and an array of historic buildings, Kumamoto Castle stands as one of Japan's most magnificent fortresses. As I approached, a group of samurai warriors warmly welcomed visitors at the entrance.
