Nagoya serves as the focal point of Japan's third-largest metropolitan region. Little did I know upon my arrival in Nagoya that the World Cosplay Summit was in full swing at various locations throughout the city. Cosplay, a captivating fusion of "costume" and "play," encompasses a performance art in which participants don costumes and fashion accessories to embody characters from the realms of comic books, cartoons, video games, films, and television series. Nagoya was teeming with cosplayers, and it felt as though I had been unexpectedly invited to a grand Halloween celebration!
