☆ Sofia, Bulgaria ☆

June 2017

Before concluding my journey and returning home, there was one more captivating Balkan country to explore. Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, welcomed me with open arms. The city's countless landmarks and historic sites bear witness to over 2,000 years of history, marked by the influences of Greek, Roman, Ottoman, and Soviet occupations. As a fitting finale to my two-week sojourn through the Balkans, I reserved the last evening for a mesmerizing performance of "La Boheme" at the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov." Following the delightful theater experience, I indulged in a sumptuous steak dinner, bringing my unforgettable Balkan adventure to a satisfying close.
