From Bologna, I embarked on a day trip to Venice by train. Venice is a city built on over 100 small islands nestled within a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Instead of roads, it relies on a network of canals, including the Grand Canal, adorned with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. At its heart lies Piazza San Marco, home to St. Mark’s Basilica, adorned with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower, which provides panoramic views of the city's distinctive red rooftops.
