Another train ride from Carcassonne took me to Montpellier in the afternoon. The vibrant city in the south of France is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, diverse culture, and Mediterranean charm. The city boasts a beautifully preserved medieval quarter with narrow streets, historic architecture, and the stunning Place de la Comédie at its heart. Montpellier is also home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, giving it a youthful and dynamic atmosphere. Visitors can explore a range of cultural attractions, including museums, art galleries, and theaters, as well as enjoy the city's lively café culture and open-air markets. |
