My backpacking journey had one primary destination in mind: Jerusalem. Prior to reaching Israel, I embarked on a fascinating journey through various Balkan countries, starting with Serbia. Serbia has made significant political and economic strides since the tumultuous conflicts of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia. An interesting connection to Serbia for me is that it is the homeland of my favorite tennis player, Novak Djokovic.
