I had the wonderful opportunity to embark on a solo trip to Mexico City. The city's historic center, affectionately known as Zocalo, serves as the pulsating heart of a vibrant culture that weaves together centuries of history, from the founding of Tenochtitlan to the present day. (Remarkably, during my visit, the 2017 World Archery Championship games were taking place at Zocalo, adding an extra layer of excitement to my experience.) Concerns about safety and security often loom when visiting Mexico, but the presence of the heavily-armed federal police force on the streets provided a sense of reassurance. Of course, it's always advisable to exercise common-sense precautions to ensure one's safety while traveling. |
