Departing from Mexico City, I opted for an early morning intercity bus ride to Teotihuacan, ensuring a more tranquil visit before the crowds arrived. Often referred to as the "City of the Gods," Teotihuacan is a remarkable vestige of a Mesoamerican indigenous civilization that predates both the Maya and Aztecs. Notably, the Pyramid of the Sun, one of the largest structures of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, and the Pyramid of the Moon, the second-largest structure in this ancient city, were among the highlights of my visit. Returning to Mexico City, I embarked on a comprehensive exploration of the city's rich cultural and historical treasures. I ventured to sites like the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor Museum, Palace of Fine Arts, National Museum of the Revolution, Modern Art Museum, National History Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, National Museum of Anthropology, and the sprawling Chapultepec Park, immersing myself in the city's vibrant heritage and diverse art scene. |
