☆ Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina ☆

June 2018

The journey from Kotor to Mostar, which took around five hours in a minivan, brought me to a college dormitory in Mostar. The visible scars of the Bosnian war served as poignant reminders of the region's turbulent history. In Mostar, the city's undeniable focal point is the world-renowned Stari Most, or old bridge. The current structure is a remarkable and convincing 21st-century reconstruction, painstakingly rebuilt following the bridge's destruction during the tumultuous days of the Bosnian civil war in the 1990s. The bridge stands as a symbol of resilience and a testament to the enduring spirit of the people of Mostar.
