Casablanca, situated on the western coast of Morocco, is a bustling port city and a prominent commercial center along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The city boasts a distinctive architectural blend in its downtown area, a testament to its French colonial influence that melds Moorish style with European Art Deco. Overlooking the ocean and making a grand statement is the imposing Hassan II Mosque, a monumental structure completed in 1993, characterized by its remarkable 210-meter minaret. My exploration of Casablanca also led me to various other points of interest, including the Central Marketplace, Muhammad V Square, the picturesque Arab League Park, and the culturally enriching Villa of Arts. |
