I embarked on a journey that took me from a flight to Macau, followed by a ferry ride to Shenzhen, and eventually crossing the border into Hong Kong. Macau, a small peninsula in mainland China, sits across the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong. A former Portuguese overseas territory until 1999, it's a place where Portuguese and Chinese influences beautifully converge. I found that meandering through the streets was the most delightful way to discover the city's rich tapestry of historical and cultural heritages. |
